Insurance and Financial Policy

In order to help make your experience with us as positive as possible, we strive to provide clear and accurate information regarding our financial expectations. For many patients, dental insurance plays a key role in helping to finance dental needs. We are happy to play an investigative role with you to determine the estimated extent of your dental benefit, in order to provide a clear picture of your financial obligation. The following points are helpful to remember:

  • Your dental benefits are based upon a contract made between your employer and an insurance company. While we are here to be your dental insurance advocate, we recommend that you contact your insurance company directly in order to achieve accurate information in a timely manner. Your insurance company is designed to serve your needs and is often more responsive to you than to the third party dental office.
  • We currently accept all private care insurance plans and work with thousands of companies (these are plans that do not require you to select a dentist from a list or require our office to accept a reduced fee for service). Although we have access to many insurance benefit databases, these databases change without warning. Therefore it is impossible to provide a guaranteed quote at the time of service. While we estimate your out-of-pocket co-payment based on the most up-to-date information, it is ONLY AN ESTIMATE. We can submit information to your insurance company and obtain a “Pre-treatment Authorization”, however, this is still only an estimate of what your insurance company will pay, and, it may prolong the beginning of your treatment 4 – 6 weeks. Either way, we are only able to provide an estimate of costs to be paid by your insurance company; keep in mind that this is not a guarantee of payment
  • We will bill your insurance as a courtesy. In the rare event that your insurance does not reimburse our office within 90 days, we will request immediate full payment for services from you and ask you to collect the insurance funds that are due to you. It is important that you recognize that the insurance you have is based on a legal contract between YOU and your insurance company, a contract of which we can not be a part. Ultimately, you are responsible for all charges in our office.
  • We do require payment in full for your estimated out of pocket portion at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, and checks. If you are in need of an extended finance option, we offer third party financing, with longer terms with an interest bearing revolving charge designed to meet your treatment plan needs on approved credit.
  • A specific amount of time is reserved especially for you and we strongly encourage all patients to keep their appointments. If you must change your appointment, we require at least 24-hour notice to avoid a $50/hour cancellation fee (of course, emergencies are an exception).
  • In the event of a dental emergency after regular business hours, a $95 emergency fee will be charged for established patients in addition to the necessary treatment fees.

I agree with the above conditions.
